Vintage ashtray from the iconic Harry's Bar which is a landmark in in Venice Italy. This is an early version 1940's of this famous and now highly collectible ashtray.
It is in great condition. It has 1 chip and one flea bite, one tiny crack in the back. All shown in pictures. The colours are bright and it shows real nice. Some shadows are due to light.
Measures 6" long x 4" wide x 1.25" deep
Harry's Bar was opened in 1931 by Giuseppe Cipriani and a young American, Harry Pickering. Harry's Bar quickly became a gathering place for an amazing list of famous people: Ernest Hemingway, Gary Cooper, Arturo Toscanini, Charlie Chaplin, Alfred Hitchcock, Jimmy Stewart, Truman Capote, Orson Welles, Joe DiMaggio, Aristotle Onassis, Peggy Guggenheim, Katherine Hepburn and many more.
